Only the blind would say Tinubu is not working – Ogun APC leader

Daily Post March 25, 2026 3 mins read

A leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Abdulrasaq Odusote, has said the Tinubu-led administration has done well for Nigerians, insisting that only the blind cannot see its achievements.

Odusote pointed to the return of student bursaries and the implementation of massive federal infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Badagry-Sokoto Expressway as evidence of a “performing” presidency.

According to him, these initiatives marked a return to the social welfare standards last seen in the 1970s, making any opposition to the current federal government appear disconnected from the reality of the progress being made.

He spoke on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ engagement held in Sagamu, which saw the collaboration of Ogo Tuntun for PDA PBAT 2027, Royal Men and Women, and Ogun Women Assembly for Yayi ahead of the 2027 elections.

Odusote said, “In Nigeria today, it’s only the blind who cannot see what President Bola Tinubu is doing. In my lifetime, I have never seen a concrete road. The only roads we knew were the Sagamu-Benin Expressway and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Now, can’t you see the Coastal Road, the Badagry-Sokoto Road, and many others?” he asked.

“When I hear of bursaries and students being sponsored in school, I remember the last time it happened was in the ’70s. But Tinubu brought it back and many more. So, who are the people saying Tinubu is not performing? We Nigerians must encourage him. Anyone talking against Asiwaju today is playing ethnic bigotry, and that cannot work in Nigeria.”

He predicted a landslide victory for President Tinubu and the APC that would mirror the historic 1993 mandate of Chief MKO Abiola.

“Nigerians have risen above that, and I’m telling you, by 12–1 pm on Election Day, Asiwaju will have gotten a massive vote that Nigerians will say they haven’t seen before, because the last they saw was when Chief MKO Abiola contested,” he added.

Also speaking, the Rev. Olusola Salau, leader of Ogo Tuntun for Dapo Abiodun and President Tinubu for 2027, noted that the partnership with other political groups is to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu, with Governor Abiodun getting the Ogun East senatorial ticket and Senator Adeola Olamilekan emerging as governor of the state.

Salau acknowledged that while the final outcome of any election rests squarely in the hands of the electorate, the visible achievements of President Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Senator ‘Yayi’ Adeola speak for themselves, emphasizing that voters should evaluate each leader based on their individual track records of performance and be guided by those results at the polls.

Speaking on the defections of political leaders across the country to the ruling party, he said, “Everyone joining APC is coming because they know the party is performing and winning. And in this regime, we all know that PDP cannot win any election.”

In her remarks, convener of Royal Men and Women for Yayi, Alhaja Rianat Oshisanwo, reiterated her readiness to deliver Remo for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Senator Olamilekan Adeola, disclosing that she has mobilized over 20,000 people and that nobody can defeat her on that.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Ogun chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Samson Ogunsanya, maintained that they belong to every political party and are focused on ensuring a smooth, fair, and credible election.
