Osimhen makes demands after Galatasaray win against Çorum

Vanguard Nigeria about 2 hours 2 mins read

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has called on his teammates to raise their level and give their all on the pitch following their 2-2 draw against Çorum in the opening week of the Turkish Super Lig.

The Nigerian forward was Galatasaray’s standout performer, scoring both goals as the defending champions were held to a draw at home.

Speaking to beIN Sports after the match, Osimhen stressed the need for the team to work harder as they prepare for a demanding season that will also see them compete in the UEFA Champions League.

“It’s going to be a tough season. The team is well aware of that. We need to work very hard,” Osimhen said.

“We need to give our all on the pitch. The fans are always behind us. We need to gain momentum before the Champions League. Our fighting spirit must increase.”

Osimhen has been linked with a possible move away from Galatasaray, with Premier League giants Arsenal and Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal reportedly interested in the striker.

However, the 26-year-old remains focused on helping Galatasaray build momentum ahead of their European campaign.

Galatasaray will look to secure their first league victory of the season when they travel to face Erzurumspor on Friday, August 21.
