Daily Post about 4 hours 1 mins read

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said 3,556 out of 3,763 polling units in Osun State had opened by 8:30 am on Saturday for the governorship election.

INEC disclosed this in an election situation report shared on its official X handle.

According to the commission, 207 polling units, representing 5.5 percent, experienced minor delays in opening but had become operational by 9:00 am.

“3,556 of 3,763 Polling Units (94.5%) had opened,” INEC stated in the situation report.

INEC also reported that the Registration Area Centre, RAC, activation for the election was completed 100 per cent by 6:09 pm on Friday.

The commission said the activation covered all 332 RACs across the state ahead of the governorship election.

Giving its overall assessment, INEC said the RAC activation and polling unit opening processes were conducted “in a peaceful, orderly, and timely manner”.
