Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed optimism that the ongoing governorship election in the state will be peaceful and that he will emerge victorious.
Adeleke spoke shortly after casting his vote at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.
DAILY POST reports that the governor arrived at the polling unit at about 8 am, accompanied by a large number of supporters.
Shortly after casting his vote, Adeleke expressed confidence in his chances of securing victory in the election and urged voters across the state to come out en masse to exercise their franchise and protect their votes until the completion of the electoral process.
The governor said the election provides the people of Osun with an opportunity to determine who governs the state for the next four years, appealing to voters to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the voting and collation processes.
“This election will be peaceful and I will win. I want you people of Osun State to remain at your polling units and monitor the process in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,” he said.
