An Osun State resident, David Adesina, has alleged that an error occurred during the recording of election results at a polling unit in Saturday’s governorship election.
According to a video shared via X on Saturday by News Central TV, Adesina stated, after the ballots were counted, the Accord Party secured 212 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 107 votes.
He claimed that when the results were being documented, a National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member mistakenly recorded the Accord Party’s votes as “012” instead of “212.”
Speaking in a video shared on x, Adesina said the mistake was immediately noticed by people present at the polling unit.
“We said not 012, it was supposed to be 212,” he stated.
He explained that the figure was subsequently corrected and endorsed. “Later I now change it to 212 and you now sign on it,” Adesina said.
The resident appealed for public awareness of the incident to prevent any future alteration of the result.
“Please let all the world hear this so that later they will not change it for us. Thank you and God bless you,” he said.
