Following the conclusion of collation of results at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has won 19 of the 30 local government areas in the state.
The results were collated in the early hours of Sunday by the respective Local Government Area (LGA) collation officers following the conclusion of voting on Saturday.
Adeleke won in Ede-North, Ede-South, Osogbo, Ife-Central, Ife-East, Ila, Boluwaduro, Irepodun, Ayedire, Ejigbo and Ayedaade LGAs.
He also won in Ifelodun, Ife-North, Ilesa-West, Egbedore, Orolu, Oriade, Ifedayo, Odo-Otin and Iwo LGAs.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, won in Olorunda, Irewole, Ilesa-East, Ife-South, Ola-Oluwa, Isokan, Boripe, Obokun, Atakumosa-West and Atakumosa-East LGAs.
However, Irepodun was listed among both Adeleke’s and Oyebamiji’s winning LGAs in the supplied copy and should be verified against the official collation sheet.
The Chief Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, is yet to formally declare the winner.
The declaration will follow the completion of the final collation and verification of the results by INEC.
