Osun election: Davido banned from performing in Edo over exchange with Okpebholo

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Afrobeat singer, Davido, has been banned from performing in Edo State.

The musician was banned following his public exchange with Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, over the just-concluded election in Osun State.

Okpebholo, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had during the campaign for the party’s candidate in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, criticised the state governor, Adeleke’s performance and alleged that his dancing skills were distracting him from governance.

In response, Davido, in an Instagram post, mocked Okpebholo over his academic grade by sharing his WAEC result.

Speaking in an interview with News Central after Adeleke’s victory, Davido vowed never to apologise to Okpebholo and insisted that he doesn’t have the right to attack a sitting governor who is doing better than him.

Also in an open letter on Instagram, the singer challenged the governor to get prepared for him.
