Osun election: Davido raises concern over Ebonyi REC presence

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has questioned the presence of the Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Pauline Ugoyenka, in Osun State before the governorship election.

Davido raised the concern in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday.

The INEC REC from Ebonyi State, Pauline Ugoyenka, reportedly arrived in Osun State ahead of the governorship election, despite Osun not being her assigned state.

Reacting, Davido wrote, “She was not deployed by INEC. What is she doing in Osun.

“She was sent here from Governor Hope Uzodimma to rig. We will resist you, madam.”

At the time of filing this report, INEC has not issued any statement over the troubling development.

DAILY POST reports that the Osun State election is scheduled for August 15, 2026 and will be keenly contested by the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, who is seeking re-election, and candidates from the All Progressives Congress, APC, African Democratic Congress, ADC, among others.
