The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, Dr. Najeem Salaam, on Monday pledged to deliver stable electricity to the people of he state of elected.
This is as he reiterated his commitment to running inclusive government, ensure even development of all sectors of the economy and create jobs.
Addressing party supporters during the party’s mega rally for Osun-West Senatorial District held in Iwo, Salaam said he will also ensure the welfare of the elderly and vulnerable, improve security, as well as guarantee equal access to opportunities for every resident of the state.
According to him, his administration will establish farm estates, upgrade the state’s healthcare system and revamp the education sector if entrusted with the mandate to govern Osun.
“By the grace of God and with your mandate, we will run an all-inclusive government where every citizen, irrespective of political affiliation, religion or social status, will have a sense of belonging.
“Our administration will be open, accessible and committed to serving the collective interest of the people of Osun.
“Our 10-point development agenda is designed to revive every sector of our economy. We will create jobs for our teeming youths, support entrepreneurs and ensure that wealth is created through productive investments in agriculture, commerce, technology and small businesses.
“We will strengthen our security architecture to protect lives and property while ensuring that the aged, persons living with disabilities and the less privileged receive the care and support they deserve. Every Osun resident must have equal access to opportunities.
“We will provide stable electricity to stimulate businesses and attract investors. Our administration will establish farm estates across the state to guarantee food security, create employment and improve the incomes of our farmers. Agriculture will once again become a major driver of our economy.
“We will rebuild our education sector, strengthen our healthcare system and build on the achievements that transformed Osun in the past. Our goal is not to start from scratch but to improve on every good policy that has benefited our people and position Osun for greater prosperity,” Salaam said.
Corroborating him, ADC National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said the party remains committed to returning Osun to the path of purposeful leadership and sustainable development.
Aregbesola described Salaam as a tested administrator with the experience, competence and integrity required to lead the state, urging residents to support the ADC candidate at the polls.
According to him, “Dr. Najeem Salaam possesses the capacity, vision and character to restore good governance in Osun. He understands government and has assembled practical solutions to the challenges confronting our people.
“The ADC is offering Osun a credible alternative built on experience, performance and accountability. We are not making empty promises; we are presenting a candidate who will consolidate past achievements while introducing fresh ideas that will move the state forward.”
The former Governor of Osun urged voters to protect their votes on election day, expressing confidence that the overwhelming support being enjoyed by the ADC across the state would translate into victory at the polls.
