Osun election: Law enforcement politicised – SDP chieftain, Adebayo

Daily Post about 4 hours 1 mins read

The 2027 Social Democratic Party, SDP, presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, has alleged that law enforcement is being politicised in the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State.

Adebayo made the allegation on Thursday during a live interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show.

He expressed concerns about the integrity of elections in Nigeria, pointing to the occurrence of violence in Osun State ahead of the polls.

“The lesson we can learn is that 2027 should not be like the Osun election because, if it is, we are starting on the wrong foot. Already in Osun, violence has occurred. Already in Osun, all kinds of unfairness have occurred.

“There has been a politicisation of law enforcement.

“From the point of view of the SDP, we just got our governorship candidate recognised only yesterday, and debates have taken place, campaigns have taken place. Everything that needs to be done has been done,” he said.
