Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, has floored the incumbent governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, in Boluwaduro Local Government Area, at Ward 6, Polling Unit 006, during the ongoing governorship election in Osun State.
According to a result sheet shared by Akinsola Akin on X after vote counting ended at the polling unit, the APC candidate secured 68 votes against 39 votes recorded by the Accord Party.
DAILY POST reports that voting in Saturday’s election, which commenced as early as 9 a.m., ended around 2:30 p.m. at some polling units across the state.
Adeleke, Oyebamiji and 13 other candidates are battling for the support of 2,339,233 registered voters in the election, according to data from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Earlier, DAILY POST reported that Adeleke expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the election across the state, citing complaints that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, machines were malfunctioning and operating slowly at several polling units.
David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, a nephew of the incumbent governor, also complained that INEC was yet to upload results to its IReV portal as of 2:33 p.m. on Saturday.
