Armed military personnel on Saturday took over the road leading to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) along Abere Road in Osogbo, Osun State.
The soldiers were stationed along the route and were seen stopping and frisking motorists and searching vehicles plying the road.
Some residents travelling through the area were also stopped by the military personnel and prevented from proceeding to their destinations.

The development occurred as voters across Osun State headed to polling units for the governorship election.
The presence of the soldiers caused restrictions on movement along the road leading to the INEC office, with motorists and other road users subjected to checks.
