Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, says the All Progressives Congress, APC, should be disqualified from participating in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
Speaking in a video posted on his verified Facebook page, Fayose was reacting to an open threat made by a serving APC senator, Francis Fadahunsi, in a video that went viral on social media on Tuesday.
Fadahunsi was spotted in the video telling his supporters to kill any member of the Accord Party they saw ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election in the state.
The lawmaker has, however, said his viral comment was a call on supporters to overwhelmingly reject the Accord Party at the ballot box through lawful, peaceful and democratic means during the election.
Reacting, Fayose criticised the Nigerian legal system, arguing that the rich and the elite, including Senator Fadahunsi, evaded accountability, while the poor faced harsher punishment.
He highlighted the disparity by referencing DJ Chicken, who sang a critical song and was arrested within 48 hours, suggesting a double standard.
Fayose blasted the APC and the law enforcement agencies for their inaction and complicity.
“In a sane country, APC Osun State would be disqualified. What’s the difference between this senator and DJ Chicken? Same offence, but one can get away with it while the other one was arrested.
“If you want to know that there is no law in Nigeria, you always see the rich and the elite get away with everything. That is why the country can’t be good.
“DSS and police, we are still waiting for you guys to make statements. And if anything happens to anybody in Osun State on Saturday, hold that senator responsible,” he said.
