Osun: ‘Get ready for me’ – Davido writes Gov Okpebholo after Adeleke’s victory

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Afrobeat singer, Davido, has promised to come after the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo over his remarks about the Osun Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

Davido made the comments on Sunday hours after governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the just concluded 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Tagging Okpebholo to the open letter on his Instagram story, Davido wrote, “@he_Mondayokpebholo get ready my brother! Make I sleep first. Nah me and you tomorrow.”

DAILY POST recalls that Monday Okpebholo, who is a member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, had during campaign for Bola Oyebamiji, the party’s candidate in Osun, criticised Adeleke’s performance and alleged that his dancing skill is distracting him from governance.

Addressing the voters, he said, “For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance. Are you not tired?”

In response to him, Davido trolled Okpebholo on his Instagram story by sharing his alleged WAEC result.

According to the result which first surfaced on social media during political controversies in 2024, Okpebholo who sat for just six subjects in 2008, had four D7s, one E8 and one C5.

Okpehbolo’s WAEC certificate, however, gained mainstream viral attention after it was shared by the singer last week.
