Peter Agada, has called on President Bola Tinubu to overhaul Nigeria’s security architecture and address what he described as the country’s worsening security challenges.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Agada, who is also the Global Convener of The Movement Nigeria (TMN), made the call in Abuja on Thursday while reacting to the July 12, 2026 attack on Akpachi and Otukpo-Nobi communities in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>He accused the Federal Government of focusing more on condolence visits and promises after attacks rather than taking decisive action against armed groups.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Agada urged the President to transform the nation’s security system into a technology-driven structure capable of preventing attacks, identifying perpetrators and bringing criminals to justice.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Mr President must re-engineer his administration into a digital-age security machine with cutting-edge capabilities to bring culprits to book and wipe out roving militia murderers, killer herdsmen, ransom bandits, bloodthirsty terrorists and their urban collaborators in any part of Nigeria,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The YPP chieftain also claimed that findings from TMN’s independent investigation indicated that the casualty figure from the Otukpo attack was higher than the official figure released by government.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>According to him, more than 50 people were killed and several others injured during the attack, adding that the group delayed its reaction to verify information from government sources, eyewitnesses, first responders and other stakeholders.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Agada said TMN’s research covering 2016 to 2021 showed that thousands of Nigerians lost their lives to terrorism, kidnapping, robbery and other forms of violent crime.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>He called on the Federal and state governments to demonstrate the political will needed to prevent further attacks and ensure justice for victims.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Nigeria has more than enough resources to fund security from what is cornered and stolen in a few agencies and from annual budgets. What is lacking is political will, sincerity and transparency,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Agada commiserated with families of victims in Akpachi, Otukpo-Nobi, Benue, Plateau and other transparent and equitable.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>In a statement by its spokesman, Torty Njoku, the commission said the exercise was conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Character Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, States Career and Counseling Departments and the Police Community Relations Committee.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The commission advised all candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination to log on to the official recruitment portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, to check their recruitment status.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The portal, according to the statement, will become accessible from 12:00am on Thursday, July 16, 2026.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Successful candidates will also receive email and SMS notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers provided during the initial application,” the statement said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The commission added that successful applicants would be required to report to their designated police training institutions on dates and times to be communicated later for medical examination and documentation.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>It warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The PSC further stated that applicants who fail the medical examination to be conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption of training
