The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State has attributed the cohesion and success they currently enjoy to the continued supports and leadership of its national leader and minister of FCT Abuja, Nyesom Wike, and that their presidential candidate, Prof Sandy Onor.
Chairman of the party in the state, Venatius Ikem said both individuals have also provided opportunities to members to serve the party in various capacities.
In a message to commemorate five years in office for members of the State Executive Committee who returned to serve another term, Ikem described the opportunities as part of the experiences that have shaped the political journey of members and contributed to their continued service to the party.
He congratulated members of the committee, acknowledging challenges, experiences and sacrifices that have characterised their period of service.
Ikem said despite the difficulties encountered along the way, members had remained committed to the party and continued to work together in keeping its flag flying.
He noted that the different responsibilities undertaken by members, irrespective of their size or status, remained important to the collective strength of the organisation.
According to him, the State Executive Committee is united by a common spirit of struggle, sacrifice and service, adding that the experiences gained over the years had enriched members and strengthened the relationships formed along the journey.
The committee expressed gratitude to God for the challenges encountered during its journey, noting that such experiences had provided valuable lessons and brought members into contact with people who had made meaningful contributions to their lives.
The State Executive Committee thanked members, supporters and stakeholders for their encouragement and support, while congratulating all members on the anniversary.
