Oyemade urges Christians to seek divine direction

Senior Pastor and Founder of Covenant Nations, Lagos, Pastor Poju Oyemade, has urged Christians to seek divine wisdom and revelation to discern God’s direction, saying situations that appear hopeless could become opportunities for victory through divine intervention.

Oyemade gave the admonition while ministering at the ongoing 22nd International Prophetic Prayer Conference organised by the Throneroom Trust Ministry in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

Speaking on seven principles of prevailing prayer, which he said could help believers position themselves for the move of the Holy Spirit, the cleric maintained that God could bring victory out of situations people consider hopeless.

“God is a God who commanded light to shine out of darkness and brings victory out of what you consider as defeat,” he said.

Drawing from the Book of Ephesians, Oyemade referenced Apostle Paul’s prayer that God, the Father of Jesus Christ, would give believers the spirit of wisdom and revelation and enlighten the eyes of their understanding.

He explained that God’s mercy manifests in different ways, noting that one of its significant expressions was opening the eyes of believers to see beyond their immediate circumstances.

According to him, situations perceived as darkness could contain opportunities for divine intervention if believers were able to discern what God was doing.

He urged Christians to embrace the prophetic dimension of their relationship with God, explaining that the way God intervened in their lives at one time might differ from how He chose to act at another.

Oyemade also cautioned believers against concluding that a situation was hopeless when they encountered what appeared to be a dead end, urging them instead to seek God’s guidance to recognise the opportunities He had already provided.

In a related development, the Vision Pioneer of Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Apostle Dr Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, called on Christian traditional rulers to build a legacy of faith and establish a lasting foundation for the work of Christ through their successors.

Kure made the call during a special session dedicated to the rededication and prayers for traditional rulers and the land.

He urged the traditional leaders to ensure that their reigns laid a foundation for the continued advancement of God’s work beyond their tenure.

The cleric also prayed for God to ease the burdens and responsibilities borne by traditional rulers across Northern Nigeria, particularly their efforts to secure peace and stability in their communities.

Responding on behalf of the Northern Christian Traditional Leaders Forum, its Vice Chairman, the Kpop Gwong, Col. Paul Zakka Nyom (rtd.), thanked Kure for inviting the traditional rulers and praying for them and the restoration of peace across Northern Nigeria.

Nyom reminded his colleagues of the need to continually see themselves as servants of God in administering their respective kingdoms.

He said traditional leadership should be exercised with responsibility, humility and commitment to the welfare of the people.

The traditional rulers, in their response, pledged to remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them and continue providing purposeful leadership in their respective communities.

The session also featured special prayers for Southern Kaduna, seeking divine direction for the people ahead of the forthcoming general elections, particularly in making informed choices and ensuring a peaceful electoral process.

Prayers were equally offered for divine intervention in the affairs of the region, the restoration of peace and the strengthening of traditional institutions across Northern Nigeria.
