Oyo Govt extends curfew by 24 hours

Oyo State Government has extended the curfew imposed on 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park by 24 hours

This is contained in a memo issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.

DAILY POST recalls that the state government announced a curfew from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. in the affected local government areas on June 23, 2026.

Based on the latest extension, the curfew, which was initially scheduled to remain in force for 48 hours, will now continue until Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The affected local government areas are Oriire Local Government Area, with its headquarters in Ikoyi-Ile; Orelope Local Government Area, headquartered in Igboho; Irepo Local Government Area, headquartered in Kisi; Saki West Local Government Area, headquartered in Saki; Saki East Local Government Area, headquartered in Ago-Amodu; Atisbo Local Government Area, with headquarters in Tede/Ago-Are and Itesiwaju Local Government Area, headquartered in Otu.

Others are Iseyin Local Government Area, headquartered in Iseyin; Olorunsogo Local Government Area, headquartered in Igbeti; and Atiba Local Government Area, with its headquarters in Offa-Meta, Oyo.
