Popular Nigerian streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has stirred reactions on social media after dismissing claims that he is wealthy despite receiving lavish gifts during his wedding ceremony.
Peller, who recently tied the knot with fellow content creator Jarvis, described himself as “just a poor boy from Ikorodu” while showing off bundles of dollar notes reportedly received as gifts from friends and well-wishers at the event.
In a viral video making the rounds online, the TikTok star urged fans to stop referring to him as a rich man, insisting that he remains humble despite his growing success.
“Stop saying I’m rich. I’m just a poor boy from Ikorodu,” Peller said while displaying stacks of dollar bills gifted to him during the wedding celebration.
The comment has since sparked mixed reactions among social media users, with many questioning how someone receiving dollar gifts and other expensive wedding presents could still describe himself as poor.
The wedding, which attracted celebrities, influencers and prominent personalities, has continued to dominate conversations online.
While some fans viewed his statement as a display of humility, others interpreted it as a humorous remark aimed at entertaining his followers.
Reacting, @officialjennyx wrote, “If Peller is poor, then what are the rest of us?”
Another user, @KingTunde, commented, “This is the kind of poverty I want in my life.”
