The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has mourned the deaths of the Sarkin Zamfara of Zurmi, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, and the Emir of Gumel, Ahmed Sani II.
Obi, in a condolence message, sympathised with the people of Zurmi Emirate in Zamfara State and Gumel Emirate in Jigawa State following the deaths of the two traditional rulers.
He described their deaths as a loss to their respective emirates and to Nigeria, noting the roles they played in preserving the culture and traditions of their people and promoting peace and unity.
“I offer my heartfelt sympathies to the people of Zurmi Emirate in Zamfara State and the people of Gumel Emirate in Jigawa State regarding the demise of two esteemed traditional leaders,” Obi said.
Obi prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the two traditional rulers and grant them Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength for their families and subjects to bear the losses.
