The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, PETROAN has said retailers want to build petrol price certainty for Nigerian consumers.
The spokesperson of PETROAN, Joseph Obele, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday after visiting the Azikel domestic refinery.
PETROAN noted that Nigeria can no longer rely on foreign refineries to convert crude oil into the fuels on which the economy runs.
Commenting on the development, the National President of PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry, said, “As retailers, we want to build practical partnerships with indigenous refineries that can improve product availability, strengthen supply chains and create greater certainty for businesses and consumers.”
He emphasised that PETROAN’s objective is not merely to secure supply for its members but to establish enduring commercial relationships that are equitable and beneficial to refiners and marketers alike.
This comes as Nigerians currently buy petrol between N1,370 and N1,450 per litre in Abuja and its environs.
