PFIPC scandal: Gbajabiamila should be suspended – ActionAid Nigeria

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

A non-governmental organization, ActionAid Nigeria, has called for the suspension of Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu over the saga involving him and one Adeniyi Adeyemi.

Country Director of ActionAid Nigeria, Andrew Mamedu, made the call on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.

Namedu stated that the initial statement from the presidency exonerating Gbajabiamila was a big mistake, lamenting that the statement has not been retracted.

Recall that operatives of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday arrested Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC.

Namedu said, “The President’s Chief of Staff, Gbajabiamila should have been asked to step aside or suspended and let investigations happen.

“It also depends on the level of connivance that you could suspect or establish on this issue. I think there is a big force, a powerful force behind all of this. For instance, that 300 of staff were released to Adeyemi. That calls for serious questioning.”

“That about 40 bank accounts were opened that were authorized by officials, and an office was allocated and all that. So those are severe and strong issues,” he said.
