From AI systems to classrooms, the honorary appointment will support selected facilitator-development sessions focused on accessible and responsible artificial intelligence education.
Planbetr has appointed U.S.-based Lead Engineer and AI systems builder Temitope Dickson Olajide as Volunteer Chief Facilitator and AI Education Advisor for its AI Mentorship Program.
The honorary and unpaid appointment will see Olajide provide occasional, high-level support for selected facilitator-development sessions, beginning with the program’s Foundations of AI module. His contribution will focus on helping facilitators explain artificial intelligence clearly, responsibly, and confidently to learners who may have little or no previous exposure to the subject.
Public discussion about artificial intelligence often concentrates on tools such as chatbots, automation platforms, coding systems, and the rapidly changing world of work. Less attention is sometimes given to the educators and facilitators responsible for introducing these technologies to first-time learners.
For someone encountering AI for the first time, the quality of that initial explanation can determine whether the technology feels understandable and useful—or distant, intimidating, and inaccessible.
Planbetr’s model is intended to address that challenge by equipping educators to introduce foundational AI concepts clearly and helping students understand them through practical examples, open inquiry and responsible-AI principles. The objective is not to turn every facilitator or student into an advanced AI researcher, but to help facilitators explain essential ideas accurately, encourage questions and guide learners towards thoughtful and responsible use.
Under the appointment, Olajide may lead or contribute to selected train-the-facilitator sessions, provide high-level feedback on lesson clarity and age-appropriate examples, participate in mock-teaching reviews, and advise on responsible-AI messaging. His participation will be occasional, subject to his availability, and limited to dates separately agreed with Planbetr. Planbetr will remain responsible for curriculum administration, facilitator selection, student supervision, certification, and day-to-day program operations.
Olajide currently serves as Lead Engineer at Cosmo Connected Inc., where he leads engineering work on DWIG, a context-aware AI product. His broader professional and research background spans trustworthy artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, cloud computing, mobile systems and distributed technologies. He has authored or co-authored scholarly work in areas including AI-reinforced zero-trust cloud security, machine learning and decentralized cybersecurity, blockchain-based protection against QR-code phishing, sustainable supply chains, carbon markets, and algorithmic trading.
He has also contributed to the development of emerging innovators through science, engineering, and entrepreneurship competitions. During the 2025–2026 Conrad Challenge, administered by the Space Center Houston Conrad Challenge team, Olajide served as an Innovation Stage Judge. He reviewed and scored student submissions, provided detailed written feedback, and contributed to finalist selection in the global STEM and entrepreneurship competition.
“AI literacy should not be reserved for specialists,” Olajide said. “It begins when facilitators can explain complex ideas in language that learners understand, connect technology to everyday life, and teach responsible use from the beginning.”
Under Planbetr’s model, Olajide will serve as an external volunteer advisor to participating facilitators. Those facilitators will remain responsible for working directly with learners, while his role will concentrate on strengthening their technical confidence, communication, teaching methods, and ability to respond to questions without overstating what AI can do.
Planbetr founder and Chief Executive Officer Dada Abiola said the appointment reflects the contribution that experienced diaspora professionals can make to education through carefully defined and flexible forms of service.
“Temitope combines technical depth with a practical understanding of how people experience artificial intelligence in everyday life,” Abiola said. “His contribution will help our facilitators teach with greater clarity, confidence, and responsibility.”
The appointment also reflects a broader approach to diaspora engagement. Rather than requiring a conventional employment arrangement or continuous availability, Planbetr is creating a framework through which experienced professionals can contribute selected expertise while the organisation retains responsibility for program delivery and administration.
Planbetr says the success of the initiative will be measured through the quality of facilitator-development sessions, improvements to teaching resources, facilitator feedback, stronger classroom communication, and the number of learners ultimately reached through participating educators. The organisation will distinguish Olajide’s direct contributions from the broader educational reach achieved by facilitators.
As interest in artificial intelligence grows among schools, families, educators, and young people, the quality of the first explanation will remain important. Training facilitators and students to teach and learn AI accurately and responsibly may be one of the most scalable ways to ensure that learners understand not only how the technology works, but also how to question its outputs, recognise its limitations, and use it responsibly.
