Social media activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, VDM, has responded to an invitation extended to him by the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, over an allegation he made in an address at the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, conference in Port Harcourt.
DAILY POST reports that VeryDarkMan on Tuesday served as a panelist at the 66th Annual General Conference of the NBA, where he made allegations against officers of the NPF.
He alleged that police officers manning checkpoints along major highways in the country relay information to kidnappers and bandits regarding the identities and movements of travellers.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the NPF invited VDM to provide evidence of his claims.
Responding, VeryDarkMan, in a post on his official Facebook page, insisted that officers of the Nigeria Police are involved in the security crisis rocking the nation.
He alleged that some personnel of the NPF are the “unknown gunmen”.
VDM, however, said he will not be providing any evidence to the police until he is charged to court.
“On the Nigerian police I SAID WHAT I SAID, you will get your evidence when I am charged to court.
“I repeat THE POLICE ARE THE UNKNOWN gunmen and they aid kidnappings. I’m going to give the police my evidence. I will be charged to court and I will tender the evidence in the court,” he declared.
