Police arrest 30-year-old man over alleged threat to father in Cross River

A 30-year-old man named Daniel Jackson has been arrested by the police.

He was arrested at Ekori in Yakurr LGA of Cross River State following a report of an alleged threat of violence made at the Ekori Police Division on Friday.

Police PRO, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, said during the arrest, a locally made gun and two live cartridges were recovered from him.

In a statement, he said, “The arrest followed a complaint made by his father, who alleged that the suspect had threatened him with a firearm on 1st October 2026.

“The suspect is currently assisting the police with investigation, while the recovered exhibits have been secured for further investigative purposes.”

Akata disclosed that the command had assured the public that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and handled in accordance with due process and the law.

He added that the suspect would be taken before the court as appropriate.
