Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

Police in Cross River State have arrested a 36-year-old man, Pius Enwa Aidan, and recovered a Lexus RX 330 allegedly stolen from a car wash in Enugu State.

The suspect was arrested at about 6:10 am on Friday along Ikpi Street, Bikobiko, Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area, barely two hours after police received a distress report about the stolen vehicle.

The Cross River State Police Command said the vehicle, a black Lexus RX 330, was stolen on November 5, 2026, while its last known location was traced to Ugep.

According to the police, detectives attached to Yakurr Division launched a tracking operation after receiving the report at about 3:55 am on Friday, leading to the suspect's arrest and recovery of the vehicle.

The police said that during preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the theft.

The recovered vehicle has been secured at the police station, while the suspect remains in custody as investigators probe the circumstances surrounding the theft and possible involvement of other persons.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Akata, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

The Commissioner of Police, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, commended the officers for their swift response and warned criminals against using Cross River State as a haven.

The command urged residents to report suspicious movements and criminal activities to the nearest police station.
