Operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Delta State, have arrested a 28-year-old suspected female gunrunner, Happiness Clifford.
The suspect was arrested in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state, DAILY POST reports.
The police also recovered from the suspect 10 live cartridges concealed in a bucket.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement sent to DAILY POST correspondent in Warri.
The police spokesman said, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU), Ubulu-Uku, arrested one Happiness Clifford, female, aged 28 years, in connection with suspected gun-running activities in Agbor, Ika South LGA.
“A search of the suspected hideout led to the recovery of 10 live cartridges concealed in a bucket.
“During preliminary investigation, the suspect identified her husband, one Clifford Okoro, as a major supplier of the ammunition.”
“Investigation is ongoing, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend him,” Edafe added.
