Police Command has rescued a 26-year-old suspected transformer vandal from a mob attack in Auyo Local Government Area of the state.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the suspect, identified as Laminu Sha’aibu of Gumusuwa Village in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, was arrested at Maskangayu Village in Auyo LGA on September 29, 2026.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, the police received information from Ayan Village at about 3:30 p.m. that the suspect had been apprehended with vandalised transformer coils and was at risk of being attacked by a mob.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said police operatives immediately rushed to the scene, rescued the suspect and took him to the nearest primary health centre for medical attention.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspect was treated and subsequently discharged, while the vandalised transformer coils were recovered.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shiisu said the suspect admitted during interrogation to spending three nights dismantling the transformer without being detected.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the police conducted further investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether other persons were involved.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, the suspect has been charged before a competent court for prosecution.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijjani Murtala, commended members of the public for providing timely information that assisted the police in apprehending the suspect.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, particularly
