The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two men over the alleged sexual assault of three minor girls in Lanzai District of Darazo Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Muhammad Jatau, 20, and Umar, 18, were arrested following a report by the father of the victims.
They were among those paraded at the Police Headquarters, Yandoka, Bauchi, on Thursday.
The command said the girls were allegedly lured to an uncompleted building in the area, where they were sexually assaulted.
The victims were subsequently taken to the General Hospital, Darazo, for medical examination.
The police said the suspects were in custody as investigation into the case continued.
In another development, the command also arrested two men, Sunusi Muhammad, 25, and Idris Aliyu, 20, over alleged threats to kidnap a resident of Machiyar Kuka village, Bununu Division.
Police said the suspects were arrested while allegedly collecting N1.5 million in ransom from the victim after making threatening calls.
The two suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Meanwhile, police operatives in Dumi Bush have foiled the theft of a tricycle by arresting a 35-year-old suspect identified as Sirajo.
The suspect was arrested following a report lodged at the ‘A’ Division and allegedly led operatives to Dumi Bush, where the tricycle had been dismantled.
The police said the recovered parts were reassembled, except for the tarpaulin, and the tricycle was released to its identified owner.
In Toro Local Government Area, the command also arrested a 25-year-old man, Jabir Yusuf of Rinjin Gura, Zalau Ward, over the alleged killing of Hassan Mohamed, also 25.
The incident reportedly occurred on September 7, 2026, when Yusuf allegedly fired a Dane gun at Mohamed, hitting him in the neck.
The victim was rushed to Toro General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The police said the suspect was arrested and the Dane gun allegedly used in the incident was recovered.
