The Akwa Ibom State Police Command says its operatives have raided a criminal hideout at Iwuachang village, Ibeno Local Government Area, arrested five suspects and recovered illicit drugs including Indian Hemp, Captain Black, Kolos and Ice.

The arrested suspects include Enoch Monila, 28, Joseph Dani, 42, Imoh Okon, 21, Joy Linus, 25, and Thadeus Damian, 32.

The command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement in Uyo on Friday.

The statement said, "The operation, conducted at about 8:00 p.m. on October 22, 2026, followed credible intelligence received by the Command and in line with the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, on the ongoing campaign against black spots and illicit drug activities across the State."

While encouraging the public to provide credible and timely information to police, the spokesperson reiterated the commissioner's stance against illicit drug trafficking and other activities capable of undermining public safety.
