Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Ondo State Police Command on Tuesday vowed to clamp down on cultists planning to celebrate the July 7 cult day in the state.

While warning against any form of procession, gathering or initiation, the command disclosed that various tactical units have been deployed to halt the celebration.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, the command maintained that any gathering or display of cult insignia will not be tolerated.

The command also maintained that brandishing of weapons, violent procession or any act capable of causing fear or panic among law-abiding residents will be swiftly tackled.

“Parents and guardians are advised to caution their children and wards against associating with unlawful groups or participating in any activity connected with the proposed celebration.

“Proprietors of hotels, lounges, event centres, bars and recreational facilities are equally urged not to permit their premises to be used for any gathering linked to cult-related activities. Anyone found aiding or harbouring criminal elements will be liable to prosecution.
