Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The Yobe State Police Command has rescued four teenage girls who were abducted by suspected criminals in Fika Local Government Area of the state, following a coordinated operation involving police operatives and local vigilantes.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this in a statement, saying the incident occurred on June 28, 2026, when the Fika Divisional Headquarters received a distress call reporting that unidentified armed persons had attacked Didim Village and abducted four young females.

According to the police, all four victims were minors aged between 15 and 17 years.

Abdulkarim said operatives attached to the Kukar Hadu Police Outstation, working in collaboration with local vigilantes and supported by reinforcement from the Fika Divisional Headquarters, immediately launched a rescue operation that led to the safe recovery of all the victims.

He added that the rescued girls were taken to the Kukar Hadu Primary Healthcare Centre, where they received medical examination and other necessary support before being reunited with their families.

The Police Command said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest members of the criminal syndicate responsible for the abduction, noting that security operations have been intensified across the area to ensure the suspects are brought to justice.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Yobe State, CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin, directed sustained intelligence-led operations aimed at apprehending the fleeing suspects and ensuring they face the full weight of the law.
