Police rescue woman from attempted abduction in Katsina

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Katsina State Police Command has rescued a young woman from an attempted abduction by suspected bandits in Kukoki community, located in Danmusa Local Government Area.

The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday by its spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu.

Aliyu said police operatives in Danmusa received a distress report that armed men suspected to be bandits had invaded Kukoki community and attempted to whisk away the victim.

According to him, the command swiftly deployed a special patrol team to the area, leading to a gun battle between security operatives and the suspects.

“The officers trailed the suspects and engaged them in a fierce exchange of gunfire, forcing the bandits to abandon the victim and flee with gunshot wounds,” the statement said.

The police spokesperson added that efforts were ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
