“Poor People Shouldn’t Have Children” – Ms DSF

InformationNG about 1 hour 2 mins read

Nigerian actress and DJ Dorcas Shola Fapson, popularly known as Ms. DSF, has shared her views on financially unstable people having children, saying prospective parents should consider their ability to provide for them.

Speaking on a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, Ms. DSF said she does not support people who are struggling financially having children when they cannot adequately cater for their needs.

She explained that raising children comes with financial responsibilities and argued that parents should be able to provide for their children before deciding to have them.

“Poor people shouldn’t have kids. I don’t think it is fair to the children. It is not fair to the family. It is not fair to you. I have a cousin that has five kids and she has been broke since she had the first one.

“Why do you have five? Every week, she is requesting for financial assistance for school fees, feeding. It is so unfair. Why have kids when you don’t have means to sustain them? It is not fair,” she said.

Ms. DSF also disclosed that she grew up in a humble home but had resolved not to raise her own children under similar financial circumstances.

She urged people planning to become parents to consider their financial capacity and ensure they can adequately provide for their children.
