Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has appealed to Nigerians to pray fervently for the safe return of the students and teachers who were recently abducted in Oyo State.

The organisation made the call in a statement issued by its Oyo State chapter.

The statement jointly signed by the President of the chapter, Okechukwu Nwabunike, and Executive Secretary, Promise Aja, was made available to DAILY POST on Sunday.

DAILY POST reports that about 39 students and seven teachers were kidnapped in some communities in Oriire local government area in Oyo State.

Nwabunike, in the statement, condemned the abduction in totality.

A statement issued on behalf of other members of the organisation described the incident as not only tragic but an assault on humanity and education in the affected communities.

They appealed to residents of the affected communities to cooperate with security agencies.

The group also appealed to all Nigerians to pray for the safe return of the victims.

“Calling on Nigerians to seek divine intervention and pray for the safe return of those still in captivity.

“We continue to pray for the safe return of these abductees and for the exposure and defeat of those behind this evil act.”
