Pre-Season: Arokodare on target as Ajax beat FC Volendam

Tolu Arokodare scored on his first appearance as Ajax cruised to a 3-2 victory over FC Volendam in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Arokodare, who was named among the substitutes in the game replaced Marcos Leonardo 19 minutes from time.

The Nigeria international netted Ajax’s third goal of the game two minutes from time after Anton Gaaei cross caused confusion in the FC Volendam defence.

The 25-year-old joined Ajax from Sky Bet Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers this week.

Ajax have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Arokodare will look to make big impression at Ajax, and earn a starting berth in the 2026/27 season.
