Rapper Rick Ross Arrested For Alleged Battery Of Ex-Girlfriend

Rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Roberts II, has been arrested in Miami-Dade County after voluntarily surrendering to police over allegations made by an ex-girlfriend.

According to law enforcement sources, the woman contacted police on Tuesday and alleged that Ross became vi%lent toward her during an incident on August 28 at the home they shared.

She reportedly told police that she was asleep when Ross woke her over a social media photo she had been tagged in. According to her account, he accused her of lying and sl@pped her in the face before allegedly striking her in the chest several times when she denied being involved with another man.

The woman also alleged that Ross ch%ked her until she struggled to breathe, grabbed her by her ponytail and slammed her against a wall. She reportedly provided police with photographs of injuries she said resulted from the incident.

Ross was arrested on charges of felony battery by str@ngulation and misdemeanor battery, both listed as related to domestic vi%lence. He is being held at the Miami-Dade County jail on a $5,000 bond for the strangulation charge and $1,000 for the battery charge.

Court records show that Ross has pleaded not guilty to both charges. He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 22.

His lawyers, Steve Sadow and Bradley Horenstein, denied the allegations, saying Ross is being wrongfully accused and that his ex-girlfriend’s motives are unclear. They noted that she did not file a police report until about a month after the alleged incident and urged the public not to prejudge the case while the judicial process continues.
