The tantrums from yesterday were triggered by the leader of the Rainbow Coalition, Wike.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Wike has continued to build the team in Rivers State and has met with the governor and his team, with our APC candidate also present.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“This has thrown the ADC into disarray because they did not want Wike to reconcile with the governor.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“So, because of that, they have come out to say that they are out to stop a state capture. directed the council leadership to clamp down on unapproved absence.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“We have directed the chairmen of the area councils to call their teachers and state clearly: if anybody participates in this, we will implement no-work, no-pay.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“Enough is enough; we cannot continue with this,” Wike warned.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister rejected the rationale behind the industrial action, asserting that all legitimate demands raised by the teaching body, including promotions and operational matters, had been substantially resolved or were actively being implemented.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“We want to state categorically and let it be known to the public: this so-called strike declaration is political, and we will not accept it.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“There is no basis for anybody to call for a strike. We don’t have any issue with the Local Education Authorities or primary schools. He is trying to ensure the FCT is in crisis as a political tool, telling voters that pupils are at home. Ask him the $10 million you paid to a Cuban company to fumigate Rivers State so there will be no mosquito bite. Up till now, mosquitoes have been biting Rivers people, including myself. Ask him, ‘The ₦68 billion monorail – where is the monorail?’ Ask him, Where is the $308 million with which you sold our gas turbine?” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He warned that continued attacks on the president and his supporters would meet resistance from supporters across the country, particularly in Rivers State, and added that thieves and lunatics will not preside over Nigeria.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“If he continues along this line, it may be difficult for him to campaign in Rivers. There is no such approval, and we will not permit it,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>To enforce the decision, Wike mandated the FCT Department of Development Control, alongside security agencies, to initiate an immediate clearance in the affected areas.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“We have directed Development Control, in conjunction with security agencies, to go and chase them away before we begin to have security problems.
