Rotary Club of Akowonjo is set to welcome the District 9111 Governor, Rotarian Bukola Bakare and her entourage on Monday, August 24, 2026, as the club prepares for an official visit that promises to spotlight its commitment to service, leadership and sustainable community impact.
The visit will bring the District Governor face-to-face with the current leadership and members of the club as they strengthen collaboration and align their service priorities with the vision of Rotary International District 9111 for the 2026–2027 Rotary year,”Create Lasting Impact.”
Led by its Impact President, Rotarian Oladapo Bankole, the Rotary Club of Akowonjo is expected to use the occasion to showcase its programmes, priorities and plans for creating lasting impact in the communities it serves.
According to Rotarian Bankole, “For us at Rotary Club of Akowonjo, the DG visit is therefore more than a ceremonial engagement, but an opportunity to reinforce the club’s commitment to service, inspire its members and demonstrate how collective action can translate Rotary’s ideals into tangible benefits for communities.”
The Chairman Planning Committee, Rotarian Oyin Sale disclosed that the August visitor will pay courtesy visits to the Executive Chairman Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson and the Palace of
Alaye of Orisunbare, HRH Oba Akeeb Adebowale Rauf Abokuwa 1.
She further revealed that the DG will conduct Ward round at Krown Hospital at 11, Alhaji Sekoni Str, Off Alimosho Road; and conduct meeting with the board and fellowship with Rotarians, sponsors, friends of Rotary and partners.”
