Russia vs Nigeria: 7 Super Eagles players to miss friendly

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

At least seven Super Eagles players will be unavailable for Tuesday’s international friendly against Russia.

The late withdrawals are as a result of injuries, club refusals and residence permit issues.

Those affected include captain Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Usor, Akpe Victory, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola and Suleiman Mubarak.

This was confirmed in an official release from the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

Ndidi picked up a knock during the AFCON 2027 qualifier defeat to Guinea-Bissau last week.

Victory has also been withdrawn from the squad after picking up an injury, and Vince Osuji was called up as his replacement, while Reims midfielder John Otomewo came in for Ndidi.

The quartet of Raphael Onyedika (Frankfurt), Bright Osayi-Samuel (Birmingham), Ridwan Abdulrasaq Popoola (Al-Wasl) and Moses Usor (LASK) have all been blocked by their clubs from making the trip.
