Russia vs Nigeria: Super Eagles coach, Chelle invites Ajasa to play friendly match

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has invited Rostov midfielder, Ibraheem Mahfus Ajasa to be part of his squad for the international friendly against Russia on Tuesday.

Rostov disclosed this in a post on its website on Saturday, wishing Ajasa “good luck.”

This comes after Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi withdrew from the friendly due to injury.

Ajasa joined the Russian club last year and hopes to make his debut for Nigeria against Russia.

The 20-year-old could provide an additional option in midfield for Chelle’s side.

The Super Eagles head into the game after their disappointing 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier a few days ago.
