SafX — A Personal Safety Platform Set to Launch With Location Sharing, Emergency Alerts and Offline Safety Features

InformationNG about 2 hours 4 mins read

As personal safety and security concerns continue to shape everyday decisions – from travelling alone and late-night journeys to checking whether loved ones have arrived safely – SafX is preparing to launch a personal safety technology platform designed to help people stay connected with those they trust when safety becomes uncertain.

SafX brings together location sharing, emergency alerts, communication and trusted-contact tools within one platform. Designed for everyday safety and emergency situations, it gives individuals and families practical ways to stay connected with family members, friends and other trusted contacts.

Key Features of SafX
  • Real-Time Location Sharing: Share real-time location with selected family members and trusted contacts.
  • Emergency SOS Alerts: Quickly alert selected trusted contacts and share relevant location information when help is needed.
  • Family & Loved-One Monitoring: Stay connected with participating family members and loved ones, including helping parents keep informed about their children’s location and relevant safety information where appropriate.
  • Location History: View previous location information and journeys, including last recorded locations.
  • Offline Location Recording: Continue recording available location data without internet connectivity and synchronise it when the connection returns.
  • Automatic Offline SMS Alerts: Send essential safety and location information to selected trusted contacts via SMS when internet connectivity is unavailable.
  • Live Chat & Video Calls: Communicate directly with trusted contacts through in-app messaging and video calls.
  • Privacy & Contact Controls: Choose which SafX features are available to individual trusted contacts, including enabling or disabling real-time location sharing and audio or video communication.
  • Community Watch: Share and receive reports about safety incidents and concerns within the community to help users stay informed.

SafX’s offline location recording and SMS-based safety capabilities are intended to help the platform remain useful when mobile data connectivity is unreliable or temporarily unavailable.

Where SafX Can Be Used
  • Travelling Alone or Late at Night: Share a journey or live location with selected trusted contacts while travelling.
  • Kidnapping or Personal-Security Incidents: Alert trusted contacts and share available location information when personal safety may be at risk.
  • Emergencies at Home or Work: Quickly alert selected family members, friends, colleagues or other trusted contacts when assistance may be needed.
  • Natural Disasters and Major Disruptions: Help families and trusted contacts share available location and safety information when normal communication may be disrupted.
  • Children and Family Safety: Help participating family members stay connected and allow parents to keep informed about their children’s location and relevant safety information where appropriate.
  • Unfamiliar Locations, Meetings or Delayed Journeys: Share location information when visiting unfamiliar places, meeting someone new or when a journey takes longer than expected.

“Technology can help bridge the gap between someone needing assistance and the people who need to know about it,” said Kingsley Aguagwa, co-founder of ZenovTech. “Our focus with SafX is on building reliable and accessible tools that help people remain connected to their trusted network when it matters most.”

“Personal safety isn’t only about what happens during an emergency; it’s also about being able to stay connected with the people you trust,” said Onyinye Stephanie Aguagwa, co-founder of ZenovTech. “We wanted to create something that gives individuals and families practical tools to stay connected and quickly alert the people who matter when they need help.”

SafX is not intended to replace emergency services. Instead, it is designed to provide an additional layer of personal safety technology by helping individuals communicate and share relevant safety and location information with people they trust.

Privacy and user control are central to the platform. Users choose the people they trust and can control the information and features available to individual contacts, including location-sharing and communication permissions.

SafX is scheduled to launch in the final quarter of 2026, with further information on availability to be announced through safx.net.

Journalists, technology reviewers and media organisations interested in learning more about SafX or requesting early access can contact the SafX team using the media details below.
