The appointment is contained in a statement issued by the Presidency on Saturday announcing members of the APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

The council will be chaired by Tinubu, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima as Vice-Chairman, while former Zamfara Gov. Abdulaziz Yari will serve as Director-General.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo is the Secretary.

Sanwo-Olu, who is also Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, will coordinate the party’s campaign activities across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states.

The governor is expected to work with APC leaders at the national, zonal and state levels to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election and strengthen the party’s presence across the geopolitical zone.

Sanwo-Olu  served as Chairman of APC Governorship Campaign Council in Ondo State during the 2020 and 2024 governorship elections and the party secured victory.

As the APC South-West Zonal Campaign Coordinator for Tinubu’s re-election, Sanwo-Olu is expected to lead engagements with stakeholders across political, labour, student, artisan, business and other groups in the South-West.

The assignment will also involve communicating the achievements of the Tinubu administration and mobilising citizens and party supporters toward victory for APC in the zone.
