Daily Post 2 days 2 mins read

Seven persons have reportedly lost their lives in a tragic road accident that occurred late Monday night along the Malam Madori–Hadejia Road in Jigawa State. The accident involved Chairman of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area who narrowly escaped death.

Eyewitness told DAILY POST that the fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m. at Kashin Dila Junction and involved a Toyota Starlet commercial vehicle and a black Mercedes-Benz (GLK.)

He said, the Toyota Starlet, driven by one Adamu Dakido, was travelling from Hadejia to Malam Madori with passengers on board when it collided head-on with the GLK vehicle.

According to the source, the Mercedes-Benz was conveying the Chairman of Kafin Hausa LGA and his driver from Gumel to Kafin Hausa at the time of the incident.

The impact of the collision reportedly killed all six occupants of the Toyota Starlet on the spot due to the severity of the crash.

The driver of the GLK vehicle also reportedly died instantly, bringing the total death toll to seven.

The council chairman, however, survived the accident but sustained varying degrees of injuries and was rushed to hospital for medical attention.

Police operatives were said to have responded swiftly to the scene, evacuating the injured chairman and the corpses of the deceased victims to the General Hospital, Hadejia.

Efforts to obtain official confirmation from the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, were unsuccessful.
