Veteran Nollywood actor has died at the age of 57 at the National Hospital Abuja (NHA).
Here are seven things to know about the late movie icon.
1. Richard Francis Duru was born on July 27, 1969, in Cameroon to Nigerian parents from Imo State.
2. He received his primary and secondary education in Cameroon before moving to Nigeria for his university education. He obtained a degree in Theatre Arts in 1996.
3. Duru debuted in the Nigerian movie industry in 1989 with a movie titled Missing Mark. He became more prominent in the Nigerian movie industry in 1995 after featuring in an action-comedy movie titled Rattlesnake
4. He got married to Adokiye in 2003, and their marriage is blessed with four children.
5. He was a recipient of the United Nations Ambassador of Peace award for his positive influence on the youth
6. He won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Igbo) award at the 2020 Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in Mboputa
7. He has featured in numerous movies, including One Chance, Tears from Holland, and Sound of Love
