Sokoto ADC affirms Senatorial candidates for 2027 polls

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Sokoto State has affirmed former Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan, Faruk Malami Yabo, as its senatorial candidate for Sokoto South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The affirmation was conducted through a consensus arrangement across the three senatorial districts in the state on Thursday.

The party also affirmed Hassan Muhammad Rabbah and Mani Maishinko Katami as candidates for the Sokoto East and Sokoto North Senatorial Districts, respectively.

Speaking after his affirmation in Bodinga, Yabo pledged commitment to ensuring effective representation and delivery of democratic dividends to the people of the district.

He also expressed appreciation to party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.

Similarly, Mani Maishinko Katami said he was prepared to contest against former Sokoto State governor, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, in the forthcoming election.

Katami criticised the ruling APC administration in the state and said the ADC was prepared to provide alternative leadership.

Senator Ibrahim Lamido, the incumbent senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District on the platform of the ADC, had earlier announced that he would not seek re-election.
