For friends and family of renowned entertainment executive and Chief Executive Officer of White Lion Global, Soso Soberekon, it was a celebration of love, culture and friendship as he tied the knot with his heartthrob, Princess Ebiere, in a series of lavish celebration that would pass for one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity weddings.
From the intimate engagement ceremony to the colourful traditional wedding in Benikrukru Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, and the white wedding and reception, Soso pulled out all the stops to ensure guests had a memorable experience visiting the oil rich state.
The celebration generated massive social media buzz, with various entertainers captured in real time videos. One of the videos had singer Teniola expressed her playful zest as she declared, “I’m a groomsman.” Teni, a friend of the bride, was seen ringing a bell and firing up the rest of the groomsmen.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Soberekon said he had waited a long time to get married because God had been saving the best for him. “God’s timing is always perfect. I didn’t wait this long in vain. He was keeping the best for me all along.”
Ahead of the ceremony, several entertainers shared snippets of their trip to Warri, Delta State, revealing they flew in on a private jet for the wedding. Upon arrival at the airport, guests were chauffeured through the city in a display of opulence convoy of luxury car brands that ooze grandeur.
The celebration reached a crescendo with series of performances, but one of the biggest moments came when legendary singer 2Baba took the stage. He serenaded the newlyweds, and as he performed African Queen. The romantic moment continued as Timi Dakolo took over with his wedding classic, Iyawo Mi.
Tagged #Sobeau2026, drew an impressive mix of traditional chiefs, dignitaries and movie, music celebrities. Personalities including E-Money, Iyabo Ojo and her daughter, Priscilla, Ini Edo, Kcee, Harrysong, Uzee Usman, Oritsefemi and Iyanya, among other entertainers.
Among other familiar faces spotted at the wedding were Obi Cubana, Cubana Chief Priest, Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, Iyabo Ojo, Toke Makinwa, Zlatan, Sabinus. Former Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick was also in attendance.
