Stanel Group / The Delborough Lagos founder, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu, has congratulated Flutterwave CEO, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, following his recent recognition among the world’s Top 100 Fintech Leaders.
Agboola was listed in the 2026 edition of FinTech Magazine’s Top 100 Fintech Leaders, joining prominent figures in the global financial technology industry, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Block CEO Jack Dorsey and Stripe co-founder and CEO Patrick Collison.
In his congratulatory message, Uzochukwu described the recognition as a significant achievement for Agboola and a reflection of the growing influence of Nigerian entrepreneurs on the global business stage.
He commended Agboola for his leadership of Flutterwave and his contribution to the development of Africa’s digital financial ecosystem, noting that the recognition demonstrates the impact Nigerian-founded businesses can make beyond the continent.
Uzochukwu said Agboola’s achievement should inspire more young Nigerians to pursue innovation, entrepreneurship and solutions capable of competing in the international market.
The recognition comes at a period of continued expansion for Flutterwave. The company has moved beyond its traditional payments business into broader financial infrastructure, including open banking and other financial services. It also secured a Nigerian Microfinance Bank licence in 2026.
Agboola’s latest honour adds to his growing profile in Nigeria’s technology and business sectors.
Earlier in September, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu appointed him a National Youth Ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force under its youth security, peacebuilding and empowerment initiative.
The Delborough Lagos founder’s congratulatory message therefore comes against the backdrop of a growing relationship between two Nigerian business leaders whose activities span technology, enterprise and investment.
For Agboola, the latest recognition further places his leadership of Flutterwave in the global fintech conversation, while for Nigeria, his inclusion on the international list highlights the increasing visibility of homegrown technology businesses on the world stage.
