Sunbeth Redeems ₦25.1bn CP, Demonstrates Strong Liquidity, Investor Confidence

This Day about 2 hours 3 mins read

Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, an agro-commodities sourcing and trading company, has announced the successful redemption of its ₦25.1 billion Series 1 Commercial Paper (CP) issued under its ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme.

The redemption was completed on the notes’ maturity date of September 4, 2026, demonstrating the company’s commitment to meeting its financial obligations to investors.

Sunbeth, one of Nigeria’s leading cocoa exporters and a significant contributor to the country’s non-oil export sector, secured regulatory approval in March 2026 to establish the ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme to support the expansion of its agricultural export operations.

Under the programme, the company completed its Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 issuances in March 2026, attracting total subscriptions of ₦165.73 billion against an initial target of ₦100 billion.

Sunbeth accepted ₦150.4 billion across the three series, reflecting strong investor demand for the programme.

Commenting on the redemption, Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, said the company’s ability to meet its Series 1 obligation on schedule reflected its financial management and business fundamentals.

“Credibility is earned through consistent performance, transparency and honouring our commitments. As we continue to scale our participation across the agricultural value chain, maintaining that discipline remains central to how we grow,” he said.

The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Adeyemi Aduwo, said the redemption reflected Sunbeth’s approach to capital and liquidity management.

He said the company remained focused on efficient capital deployment, strong financial controls and maintaining a funding structure capable of meeting its obligations as they fall due.

In less than 10 years of operations, Sunbeth said it had exported more than 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts to international markets.

The company works directly with more than 30,000 farmers and collaborates with over 250 local buying agents across the country.

Its international strategic partners include Cargill, GCB Group, JB Cocoa, Touton, Macquarie and StoneX.

Sunbeth currently holds investment-grade ratings across short- and long-term categories from DataPro, GCR, Agusto & Co. and Intelligence Africa.

The company has an A2 short-term rating from all four agencies, while its long-term ratings are A from DataPro, BBB+ from GCR, BBB from Agusto & Co. and BBB+ from Intelligence Africa, with the latter maintaining a stable outlook.

Its Commercial Paper Programme is also subject to the disclosure and reporting requirements of FMDQ Securities Exchange, providing investors and the wider market with information on the company’s financial position and performance.

Sunbeth said it would continue to strengthen its procurement capacity, deepen international partnerships and expand into higher-value segments of the agricultural value chain in Nigeria and other parts of sub-Saharan Africa.

Established in 2017, Sunbeth Global Concepts sources and trades agricultural commodities, with a focus on supporting farmers and creating socio-economic impact through partnerships, innovation and industry expertise.I can also recast this into a shorter newspaper-style business story with a sharper headline and a more compact lead.
