Super Eagles: Brentford defender Kayode reveals he was approached by Nigeria

Brentford defender, Michael Kayode has revealed he was approached by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to play for the Super Eagles.

Kayode, who was born in Borgomanero, Italy, is of Nigerian descent.

The 22-year-old has earned first senior Italy call-up, but he already left his mark with the Azzurri at the youth level.

The right-back won the 2023 UEFA European U-19 Championship with Italy, scoring the winning goal in the final against Portugal.

Kayode insisted he never consider switching international allegiance despite the approach from Nigeria.

“It was a very easy decision. I went through all the youth teams here. Nigeria approached me, but I never thought about changing national teams,” he was quoted by Football Italia.
